Experience Eyjafjörður

Akureyri sits at the head of Eyjafjörður, the longest fjord in Iceland. The sheltered waters and surrounding mountains create a spectacular setting for exploring the region from the sea. Whale watching, boat trips and other marine experiences offer a different perspective on the landscape and the wildlife that inhabits these waters.

The mountains and valleys around Akureyri are ideal for spending time outdoors. There are hiking routes to suit different levels of experience, as well as opportunities for cycling, camping and exploring the countryside.
