We had mostly calm weather conditions today and it was also warmer than it was in the last days. Sailing out in our fjord was a great way to start out the year!
We sailed out further than in the recent days and briefly saw Harbor Porpoises around the green buoy and eventually spotted the first blow north of Hauganes! We ended up counting three Humpback Whales swimming together. Additionally, we saw one more Humpback Whale swimming alone in the same area. In total, we encountered four Humpbacks in this area.
Just south of Hrísey, we also spotted a playful pod of White-beaked Dolphins! Both, with the Humpbacks and the White-beaked Dolphins, we had amazingly close and incredible encounters!
What an exciting day. To say it with our captain’s words: “This was the best tour of the year!”
