Good evening! We had great sailing conditions in Eyjafjörður today with hardly any wind!
During our morning tour, we encountered four different cetacean species: two Humpback Whales, a Minke Whale, Harbour Porpoises as well as a White Beaked Dolphin! Wow!
We encountered them all south of Hjalteyri and we had beautiful encounters! The Humpback Whales came up right next to our boats several times! Incredible. It was only a few meters away from us as it passed in the front of our boat!
In the afternoon, we encountered both Humpback Whales again on our tours.
Additionally, the fjord is full of birdlife! We encountered plenty of different bird species, such as Arctic Terns, Long Tailed Ducks and Northern Fulmars.
It was a fantastic day in Eyjafjörður and we are excited to sail out again tomorrow!
